"Loving Unconditionally is...Loving Jesus"

"Unconditionally Yours"

Over the past year or so, I have noticed that God loves me pretty immensely.  He wants me to be just like Jesus. He loves me just the way I am, BUT, he refuses to leave me that way..he really wants me to be like Jesus.

He can't love me any more or any less...I keep thinking..."maybe if I was a better prayer warrior" or "if I spend more time studying or journaling he would be really proud of me and would love me more"...I figure I need all the points I can get, right?

Well, God is probably happy when I attempt to do all of those "work-related things, but those things are what keeps ME close to Jesus...he has never moved in the first place....prayer, bible study, worship....those are things I should "want" to do....but "doing" them doesn't make God love me any more or less.

What I have found is this - as I strive to be more like Jesus, I begin to change. I change because I know that I am lacking in some areas and I desperately want to draw closer to my savior.

Don't confuse the love of people with the love of God. People kind of love "increases" with performance, but "decreases" when we fail or make mistakes. God's love is unconditional.....Do you want to be like Jesus???  Try to love your spouse or children without any expectation. Love them as Jesus loves YOU.

My definition of my love for Kim is as follows:

The commitment of MY WILL to Kim's needs and her best interest "regardless" of the cost....that is love.  In other words, if I wash the dishes or do a load of laundry (because I want to do so not because she has asked or would appreciate it) and Kim doesn't just blow me away with thank you's and affirmation....then I should not be offended for not being praised. How often do we men (after we have done something out of our character) have said...."So, what did you think about how great those 'towels" were folded...you know, I washed a couple of loads for you today!!!!"

Do something for your lover, your friend, your help-mate today regardless of the cost....

God loves you and so do I!

Jeff
